The year was 2007 and there clearly wasn't a great deal else to do.. Or so much that we didn't know quite where to begin... A basement in withington manchester will do..   We recorded our first track with a 4 track and a microphone, there may be some copies of this floating about but you'l have to turn your CD player to 40 to hear the whimsicle, barely audiable three and a half minutes which lends itself the name Dub1.   Since then we have had a busy few years, we organised our first UK tour in summer 08 with the boys from Six Fish. We made some good contacts on this tour and it has enabled us to keep touring the UK week in week out. Summer 09 brought us a european tour, we visited several different countries, played with some great bands and met some new friends. The response from the promoters and people over there was inspiring and we will definately return!   We have just released our album "No Mans Land" the CD features 8 tracks which were recorded by TimG at bigtone studios in october 08. The CD has a pull out lyrics sheet explaining some of our ideas and comes in a handmade hessian bag, each one is hand numbered 1/1000. They are available through ourselves at gigs etc.. (Paypal up soon!), Pumpkin Records (UK) Anti Korper Export (Germany) Ruin Nation (Germany) Active Distribution (UK) and MassProd (France). It is available at various different independant distros (All Ages London/Punker Bunker Brighton). We have also donated tracks to various different compilations including, Angry Scenes, TNS, Call this Civilisation (Pumpkin Records, featuring 50 bands from around the earth..) Save Tasi Rainforest Benefit and others which escape me at the moment..! We plan to do some more recording and release a split vinyl later this year with S.C.R.A.P Records, more details to come! Also in the pipeline is a Vinyl pressing of the album "NoMansLand" which will be released by Ruin Nation (Germany) Pumpkin (UK) and Mass Prod (France).   So, since 07, we have played over 130 gigs which have all been organised via ourselves and other D.I.Y promoters, we always correspond directly with people and dont use the middle people, unless they are nice middle people of course.. We have played at festivals, squat parties, on site, bars, warehouses, cubs and anywhere we can so if you want us to play get in touch via email. We have been involved with benefit gigs for A-Fed, Critical Mass, Faslane Peace Camp, S B travellers site, Political Prisoner Support, Anti-Fa, Defense of Ancient Forests and others.   It is a privilege to be part of a scene which is creative and friendly and it is here that Anarchist Philosophy begins, Being self organised, creative and open with people rids the need for dependance on any sort of Leviathan state to shaddow our lives. Alienation from our environment and other people creates dependance on something beyond ourselves, as a result we feel as if we are spectators in the world. Being self organised and trusting our own thoughts in the face of this alienation is a way of reclaiming our lives. Effectively, each person is a microcosm of a group, if we focus on our own actions, relationships and trust ourselves ,we can in turn trust everything (which appears to be!?) outside ourselves! Most political theory becomes dogmatic because people try and hold onto it, don't listen to the babbling beards and shelves of shite, trust yourself and those around you, we are all in it together. Expression is everything, listen to your mother, create Anarchy do it yourself!   Oh, bit of a rant there, but it seems fairly important, nobody is an expert, we are the monkeys that fall out of trees after all... But a piece of ground where we can share ideas, experiences and have fun is what we're after.   If you want to get in touch for any reason, don't hesitae to conatact us via our email (top) or here on myspace.   Photobucket  Meer lezen: http://www.myspace.com/theautonomads#ixzz11bsUYMQA
