Dear friends across the world,
"I swear, life is so beautiful this way, without the sounds of Israeli drones." This was the testimony of a little Palestinian boy when he woke up to the temporary ceasefire in Gaza. He says he prays that this will be a permanent one. And, together, we can boost his prayers - it will only take 5 minutes from each of us.

The humanitarian pause is set to end this Thursday. This is the key moment to flood social media everywhere with a cry for peace. Avaaz has partnered with artists, activists and allies around the world for a powerful social media action that can help show the beautiful children of Gaza that can still be saved by a ceasefire. Will you join us?
See below for how to join the #LetThemGrowUp campaign and help us call for a permanent  ceasefire.
  1. Pick one child's name and age from the list below and write it on your arms - on the list we have the names of children living in Gaza who have been sheltering from airstrikes. We chose this gesture because parents are writing their kids' names on their bodies, so that the children can be identified if they are killed. It's so heartbreaking, and such a powerful symbol of the horror of this war… that's why we're asking you to write the name of one of these children on your body too, as a gesture of solidarity. Here are some options:

    Yet-unnamed baby, 0 years-old
Teeba Khalid Abueliwa, 6 years old
    Wael Salha, 5 years old
Ward Wa'el Arandas, 6 years old
    Noha Khaled, 9 years old
    -----
  2. Take a selfie with your arms in front of your chest like this - you don't need to show your face if you are not comfortable with it:
  3. Post your selfie on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (you can choose any social media channel that you like).
  4. You are welcome to customise your participation, including adding the names of children in Gaza that you know personally, but we kindly ask that you use the hashtags #LetThemGrowUp, #CeasefireNow and #PermanentCeasefire. In addition, please share the website LetThemGrowUp.com that explains what this action is all about and how more people can join.
  5. Invite your friends and family to do the same.
  6. If you don't want to post a photo, you can also find content to share here.

It is on us to double our efforts this week to reach a full ceasefire. This humanitarian pause has given us a de-escalated moment, and we need to continue to further push de-escalation on all fronts. In the short term, the goal is to extend this pause and amplify the calls for a ceasefire. That is what our #LetThemGrowUp social media push can achieve if we all put energy into it before this humanitarian pause ends.

Like you, millions of Avaaz members are receiving this email now to join this action. None of us are alone - and our voices together can change history.
With stubborn hope,

Nana, Fadi, Nell, Sam, Zarpa and the whole Avaaz team.
