Oily Banking

16730464_10154135388665974_4828159118568964686_n.jpgCalling all Activists! Or it's been a while but I'm still game Friends! Join our Oily Banking Campaign.

Senior officials and interns at the Church of Stop Shopping have developed a dramatic, poignant and low-arrest-risk action for banks that finance fossil fuel projects. Here in New York we concentrate our invasions on TD, Citi and Wells Fargo. Yesterday major investor ING pulled out of DAPL so yes, pressure on the banks works.

Our pilot program gets a good (and funny) wrap-up in The Villager.  Our bank lobby ventures require white clothing, an oily substance like safflower mixed with graphite, flyers with damning data about the bank and a good cameraperson.  Someone should carry a potent and personally important symbol of the Earth. That person and or that symbol should be anointed by the oil then maybe say a few words, read a poem, or sing. And clean up after yourself, and we recommend not using a fish, or any other "real" animal.

Contact the Stop Shopping Church and we will go into all of this in greater detail.
