Here just the comment from yt by Renierius: They openly admitted to being in favour of the VVD before, outside of their own show. I don't know about inside of the show however, they just ridicule people and provoke them to give a negative appearance on camera, so I don't like watching it at all and hence refrain from it. Obviously some people want to believe the way they present things however, it's a certain state of mind common among a portion of the population, or they just like the show's 'style' (which I find extremely immature). Powned, the media who are claiming that they are not right or left. They trying to ridicule either squatters,Occupy movement either extremist wilders from party PVV (for freedom ;) But they very rarely ridicule the VVD another right wing capitalistic party which is far more dangerous because they are more business wise, and less radical than PVV. VVD its the house speculators party, so nothing strange that they are against squatters. They rule not for the people but for their own interests. We suspect such a media like powned and geen stijl very connected if not sponsored by those neo liberal ruthless party VVD. Usually what they do they pick up from interviews parts and are editing them in that way that they afterwards look as much as possible as a stupid answers or something conforming their point of view.

According to some of my friends on the video above there is some racist coment towards Danny pownews. However iritant idiot he is we would not tolerate racism in our movements. That's why i ask everyone to make coments under this video here or contact their makers in other why and take the stand against racism, There is no place for racist discrimination in Occupy Movement, no either on our streets !

Wednesday, Oct 3rd:

Arrival at Caïro Airport on a warm night. A bus brings the rebel clowns to Giza, but first we see the city of Caïro, the river Nile and other spots we only knew from pictures. Giza is a place south of Caïro, close to the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. The Amsterdam Rebel Clowns stay in a lively neighbourhood: cafés and shops are open till late. Much poverty, much spirit and many super friendly people!

Thursday, Oct 4th:

The night of the opening of the CIRCAÏRO Festival which invited us. In the night the clowns arrive at Abdin Square. The square is close to government buildings. Maybe one of the reasons it wasn't easy to get permission to have the festival there. It took even till Oct 4th till it was sure the festival should go on. First of all the festival is a circus festival, but has also some political cultural components. In an earlier edition they invited a very political Palestinian group of clowns, this year it's Rebelact. The plan is to be a living connection between the neighbourhood and the festival area. Especially a country like Egypt needs a 'Rebel Clown Army'!

The place to change clothes and to clown make up is a tent on the Abdin Square. But... when people of the festival discovered the clown army jackets a big bomb exploded! "This uniform cannot be shown at the opening of the festival! We might get troubles from security, the festival might get troubles, the relation between Egypt and the Netherlands could get bad, we even cannot tell what consequences it might have!".

What happened was a big surprise, because during the preparations the festival organisation clearly asked to bring the 'Rebel Clown Army' to Egypt and yeahhh... pimped uniforms are part of it!
What to do in this situation? For the time being the clowns who all were wearing uniforms stayed in the tent, internal discussions followed. Public was waiting outside, got the request to adapt from the organisation. In the meantime Egyptian media entered the tent. Making films and pictures of the rebel clowns in army dress! A perfect moment to start marching in the tent and spread our message by the media!

Visits and negotiations in the tent. Several people of the organisation came in the tent and asked to don't wear the uniforms. Police and security should be on the square. But several clowns said we didn't came to Egypt to just be a clown! Finally it looked like we got a permission to have a small round on the Abdin Square in our beautifoool pimped uniforms... But then another person entered the tent and the whole discussion started all over again. The European women didn't introduce herself, but the way she behaved it looks like she was the boss of the festival. She wasn't! After a while one of the clowns asked who she is. An employee of the Dutch Embassy... (probably afraid the performances should damage the Egyptian-Dutch relationship)

Shortly after these talks we got a definitive no. Some of the clowns protested by staying in the tent, others made a short round without army jackets in the backstage area. Again confusion. Some people of the organisation stopped the clowns in their way to the public. Finally the public could be reached. It didn't take long. All clowns returned to the tent. Introducing the 'Rebel Clown Army' in Egypt wasn't easy that night!

Friday, Oct 4th:

Dresssed normally several clowns passed the security check near the Pyramids and Great Sphinx. Afterwards the clowns took their noses and wigs and tried to give the Sphinx his nose back. Even more beautiful: a round red one!
The clowns were an extra tourist attraction: several people wanted to make pictures with them.
Of course the proof the clowns really were in Egypt are the pictures with them, the pyramids and the Sphinx!

Friday was also the first day of the 'Basic Rebel Clown Training'. About 20 / 25 people who live in Egypt joined. Most of them have a theatre or clown backkground. They were highly motivated, participated actively full of energy.
Someone had to translate, but everything went very smoothly, as they understood easily what they had to do. Their response was really enthusiastic.
Like on the Abdin Square also at the training in the cultural centre there were moments with Egypt media, making interviews, pictures, films, etc. A great opportunity to spread the rebellious clown message!

Saturday, Oct 6th:

Already in the afternoon the clowns arrive in Mansoura. The performances in the Shagaret El Dorr Park are in the night. There's was time left for a Nile cruise with a party boat. Also joined by a big group of children from the Egyptian Circus.
Mansoura is a conservative place. In the weeks before the festival started there's a campaign to stop the festival entering Mansoura. But luckily the campaign isn't successful. Hundreds of people are in the park. Now the clowns are better prepared to don't wear uniforms; instead they use green self made 'camouflage' shirts. Then all kind of manoeuvres followed. The public and especially the children are very enthusiastic. They follow the rebel clowns wherever they go. Even in the dress up tent where they ended the performance with giving a lot of red noses to the children.

Sunday, Oct 7th:

After an afternoon seeing the oldest parts of Caïro the rebel clowns have a presentation in the evening in the theatre space of the cultural centre where also the training has been organised. Two female rebel clowns explain about the history of the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army and how in several countries gaggles (local groups of rebel clowns) started. Several videos from Scotland (G8 2005) and the Netherlands (Rebelact, 2007 - 2012) were shown on the screen. Again Egyptian and Arabic media are there.
The night ends around 22.00 with several questions by the public. One of the most interesting questions is: "How to translate the 'Rebel Clown' concept (and other forms of creative activism) into the Egyptian circumstances?". A question which probably only could be answered by Egyptian people.

Monday, Oct 8th:

The last day of the Basic Rebel Clown Training in Caïro. After hours of physical exercises where the participants learn spontaneous play and typical 'Rebel Clown Army' manoeuvres and much more, the training ends with a brainstorm about what to do with rebel clowning in the Egypt circumstances. Although the original plan was to have practice on the streets, this exchange of thoughts was maybe one of the best moments of the training. The picture was great: very concrete problems asking for very concrete rebel clown attention!
It was a moment we didn't allow the media to film in the space. Earlier again interviews. This time independent filmmakers, but also Al Arabiya - a well known Arabic TV station.
The Basic Training will most probably get a follow up in November. Wait and see! Rebellious red noses will conquer the streets of Caïro soon!

Tuesday, Oct 9th:

Tired but satisfied the Amsterdam Rebel Clowns fly back to Amsterdam. In their bags the contact info of great Egyptian people who invited them to come back.
Rebel clowning started as part of the Alterglobalist movement around summits like G8. Here the Amsterdam Rebel Clowns had the unique chance to really connect with the 'South'. Egypt after the revolution of 2011 is one of the most interesting parts of the southern countries. By connecting with people there the rebel clowns could bring some of their alterglobalist ideals into practice.

Let's end with a personal quote from one of the rebel clowns: "People show high enthusiasm. It was like they see us coming from out of space. We got a lot of attention, much more than you can ever dream of in the Netherlands. People are very reactive, because their life there is quite different. They struggle a lot to survive and are much more social".

It was absolutely great to be in Egypt! It opened our eyes, ears and hearts for real people with real problems. People thanked us for the inspiration. But we were inspired by what happened starting January 25th in 2011. People who were so courageous! We talked with one of the people who joined the Arabic Spring; last year he was on Tahrir Square and showed us his mortar scar, fired by the army.
He's one of the courageous people wearing such a medal of honour.

Kom op zaterdag 13 oktober 2012 om 14:00 uur naar het Beursplein. Pak een pot of pan, een houten lepel (en misschien ook oordopjes) en maak je klaar om lawaai te maken samen met mensen over de hele wereld die de straat op gaan om deel te nemen aan de globalNOISE.

Op deze internationale dag van protest zullen we laten horen dat we er nog zijn en een jaar later, meer dan ooit verbonden zijn met met elkaar en met de rest van de wereld.

We willen dat het Beursplein een open platform is voor een vredig en vrolijk protest, waar iedereen zich vrij kan voelen om vorm te geven aan de dag. Er zullen sprekers zijn en er zal muziek klinken en het is een dag om elkaar te ontmoeten en verhalen te horen van activisten over de hele wereld en lokale burgers die opkomen voor wereldwijde rechtvaardigheid.

#GlobalNOISE, is een een wereldwijde actie. Volg ons als we de straat op gaan en laat je horen tegen de financiële zwendel en de hebzucht van de 1%.

Tantra for all. What, how, where we are teaching ?

Many people are asking us question : "What You are actually teaching". Mostly we answer with another question: "What are Your expectations ? "
Tantra is also about spontaneity, so we are. Usually at the first meeting we are trying to find out from You what You would like to learn. Why ? How ? What exactly etc. Then, when we know more less something, it is easier together with You to figure out the program, method, schedule, the way etc. what would work most efficient for You. We are all individuals, the situations are also different. Our scope of possibilities should expand to the situation and to the student(s) itself.
For the people who would like just to find out what tantra is and if it is something for them we have introduction lecture what may last from 45 minutes till three ha. Between theory about practise, we give small examples of simple, save exercises, what You can follow after alone or with Your partner. Everyone who would follow instructions just from this introduction may diametrically improve their life.
For those who would like to go deeper, we provide practical workshop what could be only one session or what could be also as a long, regular training. For the practical sessions we prefer to work with the couples, but don't worry if You are single. They're always someone who needs partner too. Especially within the spontaneous couples ( but not only ) we expect from people to learn to respect their own and their partners barriers and limitations. In this matched for purpose of the training couples, our goal is that even person who have lover, who do not attend to the lessons, would fill comfortable (and their lover either). Of course we don't mind ( we even like it ;) if people who are free after or during the training would form relationship. Best for us is to teach lovers couples from simple reason: where is love, energy flows freely end better and of course we can teach them more.
Whatever Your situation is, whatever are Your expectations, we will do our best to fit them and learn You better way of lo(/i)ving. You just have to make the first step.

Do not worry about the money. Even we value our teachings a lot we are thinking that tantric teachings should be available for everyone especially for those who needs it mostly or for those who are so busy with making good things that they do not have time to make money ( sounds familiar for us ;) We are so dedicated to spreading the knowledge of love that we resigned from our paid work with the hope that universe would take care for us. For those who fill better in their own surroundings we don't mind to give the lessons in their own homes.
We are open to teach in all circumstances. On festivals, events etc.We don't mind to be a part of dancing, alternative, spiritual, or/and  ecologic events. We like travel as well.
Practical workshop, first lesson could be about two three ha.
Whole course takes 12 lessons with possibilities of repetitions or making the lessons longer if needed.
We are able also provide intense weekend with accommodation and delicious healthy organic raw food.

[Urecht] 5 appartementen in gebruik genomen

Op zondag 7 oktober heeft een groep jongeren hun intrek genomen in 5 appartementen in Zuilen, Utrecht. De appartementen staan al 2 jaar leeg na de brand in een zesde appartement in het zelfde blok.

In 2010 woede er een brand in een appartement aan de Boelesteinlaan, in Utrecht. Hierna was een van de appartementen onbewoonbaar. Hierop besloot woningbouwcorporatie mitros, dat de andere 5 appartementen ook maar ontruimd moesten worden, waarom is niet erg duidelijk. Wel stond dit flatblok samen met een aantal andere flatgebouwen in de buurt op de lijst om in 2010 gesloopt te worden. Dit doet het vermoeden rijzen dat mitros op deze situatie in speelde om de overige woningen alvast leeg te hebben voor de sloop. Twee jaar later staan de woningen er echter nog steeds exact hetzelfde bij, alleen nu is het hele blok met houten platen in gepakt, er staan wat vrolijke schilderingen op, je zou bijna vergeten dat het eigenlijk woningen zijn...
Vanwege het hoge aantal ontruimingen de laatste tijd in utrecht was een vrij grote groep mensen op zoek naar een woning, en ons oog viel op dit blok.
Na wat organisatie hebben wij dan ook op zondag 7 oktober de 5 woningen opnieuw in gebruik genomen. De actie verliep prima, politie was vrij snel ter plaatse, wel wat macho gedrag hier en daar, maar toen uiteindelijk de officier van justitie besloot niet te ontruimen, waren ze snel weer weg.
Veel buurtbewoners waren op het tumult afgekomen en stonden ondertussen buiten. De meesten mensen waren erg vriendelijk en ondersteunend. Wat hun, en ons trouwens ook, zeer verbaasde was dat de 5 woningen perfect in orde zijn, geen brandschade, alles nog heel op een enkel gesneuveld raam.
De enige reden die de mitros heeft opgeggeven voor de ontruiming van de overige 5 woningen was dat ze ook beschadigd zouden zijn, dit is echter niet het geval.
Kortom, de woningen hadden prima nog 2 jaar bewoond kunnen worden, maar toch koos mitros ervoor alle voorzieningen bij de straat af te sluiten en het te verstoppen achter een leuk schilderijtje.

Mitros laat prima bruikbare woonruimte jaren leeg staan terwijl mensen jarenlang op een wachtrij staan voor een woning.
De gemiddelde wachttijd voor een sociale huurwoning in Utrecht was in 2011 8.1 jaar.
Dit is absoluut onacceptabel!
Wij hebben vernomen dat de mitros aangifte heeft gedaan, ze zeggen tegen de politie dat de woningen niet veilig zijn, en dat er geen voorzieningen zijn. Over de veiligheid is geen enkele officieele uitlating gedaan door mitros, behalve een door hun gepubliceerde nieuwsbrief waarin ze vertellen dat er tijdens de brand GEEN asbest is vrij gekomen (zie bronnen). Wat betreft de voorzieningen, er wordt nu gezegd dat het onbewoonbaar is omdat deze niet aanwezig zijn, maar deze heeft mitros zelf weg gehaald!

We zullen nu moeten afwachten wat de politie van het verhaal vind, ondertussen gaan wij druk aan de slag om de schade die mitros heeft aangericht (het weghalen van water, stroom, gas en daglicht) te herstellen.

The Grameen Bank is very different from the big giants of Wall Street. They loan money to 8.4 million people, mostly women from the poorest villages in Bangladesh, so they can buy assets like cows or sewing machines and start earning money. These women borrowers also run the bank -- they are not only the majority shareholders, 9 out of 12 seats on the board are held by village women in saris.

But PM Hasina wants to end Grameen Bank as we know it. She first stripped Dr. Yunus' position as the bank's managing director, and now just passed a law that would allow the government to bypass the people-elected board and handpick his successor. And they fear that the government may use its newfound power to manipulate millions of members for votes in next year's election.

Velden met gentech gewassen onschadelijk gemaakt - een nuttige en gerechtvaardigde actie

[onderstaande tekst is ook gestuurd naar de Volkskrant naar aanleiding van een aantal opiniestukken in die krant]

Begin juli zijn in Drenthe en Flevoland twee proefvelden met genetisch gemanipuleerde gewassen onschadelijk gemaakt. Het ging om aardappels van het Wageningse Durph project. In Gelderland is een veld van BASF met Fortuna aardappels aangepakt. Wij hebben dit gedaan om de groeiende greep van grote bedrijven op de landbouw tegen te gaan.

Hoewel door de Volkskrant werd gesuggereerd dat Greenpeace hierbij betrokken zou zijn geweest, is dit dus niet het geval. Greenpeace heeft in een reactie wel duidelijk gemaakt dat er op de pro-gentech wetenschap vaak wat aan is te merken.

Dat onze actie enige discussie in de media heeft opgeleverd is op zich al een goed resultaat. Normaal is het in Nederland veel te stil rond de introductie van genetisch gemanipuleerde gewassen en de onderzoeksinstituten en bedrijven die hier achter zitten.

Het punt dat het meeste aandacht krijgt in de discussie over gentech is de veiligheid bij de consumptie van de gewassen. Rapporten spreken elkaar regelmatig tegen en het is lastig om echt onafhankelijke onderzoekers te vinden. Het laatste woord is nog niet over gezegd. En zolang er zo veel onduidelijkheid over is is het beter gentech gewassen niet in het milieu te introduceren. De vreemde genen blijven niet in het bedoelde veld, maar besmetten andere landbouwgebieden en vaak ook de natuur buiten de velden.

Wat in de meeste discussies ontbreekt is de maatschappelijke kant van het verhaal. Stel dat de gentech-gewassen veilig zijn... moeten we deze ontwikkeling dan wel willen? Voor welk probleem vormen ze een oplossing? En ten kosten van wat? Wie heeft er baat bij en wie worden er door gedupeerd?

Het is de bedoeling dat gentechgewassen beter tegen beestjes en ziektes kunnen, of anders in elk geval beter tegen bestrijdingsmiddelen die dan gebruikt kunnen worden tegen deze beestjes en ziektes. Maar er bestaan ook andere manieren om plagen in de hand te houden, bijvoorbeeld door schaalverkleining, het gebruik van biologische bestrijdingsmethoden en het op conventionele wijze veredelen van gewassen. Bedrijven als Monsanto investeren miljoenen in gentech omdat ze hiermee een verdienmodel in stand houden die hun een maximale verrijking garandeert, niet omdat ze begaan zijn met het ontwikkelen van duurzame landbouw en voedselvoorzieningen.

Een groot bezwaar tegen gentech is dat het tot nu toe altijd samen gaat met patenten. Op deze manier hebben Monsanto, BASF, Syngenta en andere grote bedrijven gewassen ontwikkeld en aan boeren opgedrongen. In een reactie op het brief van Greenpeace erkennen Bert Lotz en Richard Visser (twee medewerkers van de Universiteit van Wageningen) dit probleem maar volgens hun is gentech "in principe ook toepasbaar door kleine en middelgrote veredelingsbedrijven." Leuk zo'n principe, maar de praktijk laat echter zien dat dankzij gentech de grote bedrijven alleen maar meer marktpositie en macht krijgen. Bij het Durph project gaat het om een instituut dat verbonden is aan de universiteit van Wageningen. Maar ook zo'n instituut moet zelf geld binnen brengen waardoor het erg waarschijnlijk is dat het patent op de technieken en gewassen uiteindelijk verkocht wordt aan een bedrijf of dat (een deel van) het instituut zelf wordt overgenomen door een commercieel bedrijf. Bij soortgelijke gevallen in het verleden is dat uiteindelijk ook gebeurd. Om deze reden gaat ook het veelgenoemde argument niet op dat het hier alleen om wetenschap gaat en dat je daar toch niet tegen kunt zijn.

Zaden moeten vrij beschikbaar zijn. Genen en zaden kunnen zichzelf verspreiden en mogen geen eigendom zijn van een bedrijf dat er met advocaten achteraan gaat hollen om geld te innen.
Lotz en Visser noemen wel de kleine veredelingsbedrijven, maar negeren de boeren. Vooral onder boerenbewegingen in het Zuiden is een grote weerstand tegen introductie van gepatendeerde zaden die boeren elk jaar weer opnieuw zouden moeten kopen. Deze ontwikkeling gaat samen met de introductie van gentech.

Een algemeen uitgangspunt zou moeten zijn dat je anderen geen ingrijpende veranderingen opdringt en geen onomkeerdebare schade toebrengt aan het milieu. Met de introductie van gentech gebeurt dit wel: een goede reden om actie te ondernemen.

De weerstand tegen de introductie van genetisch gemanipuleerde producten is. Dit heeft er bijvoorbeeld voor gezorgd dat BASF stopt met het op de markt brengen van gentech gewassen in Europa. Helaas doet dit chemische bedrijf er op dit moment alles aan om de testen met de aardappels waar ze al mee bezig waren af te maken om toch nog te kunnen cashen. De winsten die ze hiermee hopen te behalen zijn kennelijk zo groot dat ze het waard vinden proefvelden te laten bewaken.

Ook in Belgie proberen bedrijven en daaraan verbonden onderzoeksinstituten de weerstand tegen genetische manipulatie te breken. In 2011 werd bij Wetteren een veld met Durph aardappels aangekondigd en op klaar lichte dag voor een deel bevrijd van gentech patatten. De vrijwillige veldbevrijders hebben hun nek uitgestoken voor deze goede zaak. Een aantal van hun heeft nu helaas te maken met langdurige rechtszaken. Ze verdienen alle solidariteit en steun. Het is wachten op meer actie voor een duurzame landbouw die niet wordt beheerst door grote bedrijven!
