With ridiculous questions during the Greek Parliament sessions from members of parliament belonging to a fascist political party, slanderous rumours and sneaky publications even from the Greek Communists Party official newspaper, as well as other daily newspapers, the State has activated its plans of shutting down Indymedia, a website of direct information used by socio-political movements and internet meeting point for thousands of people sharing their thoughts and actions, creating and organising a site of free expression and resistance against Capitalism and State agendas epitomized in the motto "profits above people".
Let them all know that Indymedia is outside their sphere of authority and control, it belongs to those voices suppressed and gagged by their system, it's far away from their logic and morality. It is ours and will stay alive for as long as we need it to change this world.

On Saturday, January 31, at 6:00 p.m. a heavily armed commando unit of the Oaxaca state police went into the San Pedro Pochutla prison and took our indigenous comrade and political prisoner Abraham Ramírez Vásquez away in a white van with no license plates to an unknown address.
Abraham and two other indigenous men, Juventino and Noel García Cruz, have been held prisoner since January 15, 2005, under the direct orders of the murderer Ulises Ruiz Ortiz (URO). Our comrades’ crime was defending their forests and their traditional practices and customs.
For more than 4 years, the URO government has been unable to prove that they committed the crimes they are accused of, and accordingly, they have not been sentenced. Our comrades are members of the Committee for the Defense of Indigenous Rights (CODEDI) of Santiago Xanica, a member organization of the Magonista-Zapatista Alliance (AMZ), the Popular Assembly of the Peoples of Oaxaca (APPO), and adherent to the Other Campaign.
It’s important to note that Abraham Ramírez is a man of deep libertarian and human convictions, which have motivated him more than once, even from inside the prison, to struggle against the prison authorities for prisoners’ rights.
During all these years, Abraham has stayed in contact and written letters encouraging the people of Oaxaca to resist and not to allow their dignity to be trampled on by the killer who misgoverns this state. Prison bars have not been able to silence his rebellious voice, and he and theother two comrades held prisoner with him have sent letters and greetings to several different events initiated by the Other Campaign.
Abraham is also directly involved in the organization of a popular kitchen inside the Pochutla prison due to the fact that the prisoners have no dining room in this prison. This activity has lead to harassment, hostility, and acts of aggression against him by prison authorities.
The man to be held responsible for these aggressions is the director of the penitentiary, Juan Noel Ramirez Medina, who directly followed the orders of URO.
Thanks to a call that Abraham claimed to do himself, sunday the 1st of February at twelve we were told that our comrade was in Miahuatlan jail, in Oaxaca. This jail is mostly full of prisoners connected to the narcotraffic. We know that some of these prisoners got order to harrass, molest and intimidate our comrade Abraham.

We heard the news of the violation of human rights by the illegitimate government of Ulises Ruiz Ortiz towards members and communities of the Xanica Committee for the Defence of Indigenous Rights (Comité por la Defensa de los Derechos Indígenas de Santiago Xanica , CODEDI – XANICA) through menaces, persecutions and isolation, unjustified relocations of the prisoners and aggressions, mostly towards:

We strongly reccomend that Abraham Ramírez Vásquez moves back to Pochutla penitentiary, because he has the right to see his family and he is not a dangerous criminal but a political prisoner.
We also think that the director of Pochutla penitentiary, Juan Noel Ramírez Medina, must be removed from his office being a direct actor of this human rights violation, carried out towards Abraham Ramírez Vásquez, Noel García Cruz e Juventino García Cruz.
We are worried about this situation, it represents an escalation of violence towards all members of CODEDI – XANICA.

Wij roepen op om 21 februari in Zoetermeer te demonstreren tegen racisme en extreem-rechts. Stop racisme, geen vrijplaats voor nazi's!
Extreem-rechts partijen en groeperingen houden in Nederland regelmatig bijeenkomsten en demonstraties waar zij hun haat tegen alles wat anders is kunnen uiten. Dit is echter nog niet genoeg; gewelddadige groeperingen zoals de Nationaal-Socialistische Actie eisen ook dat de overheid ruimtes aan hen beschikbaar stelt waar zij ongestoord bijeen kunnen komen. Ook in de gemeente Zoetermeer eisen nazistische jongeren een dergelijke ontmoetingsplaats. Zoetermeer heeft jarenlang overlast gekend van extreem-rechts jongeren, een plek waar zij bij elkaar kunnen komen om zichzelf te organiseren zal dit soort problematiek alleen maar vergroten. Dit geldt uiteraard niet alleen voor Zoetermeer, maar ook voor andere plaatsen waar extreem-rechtse jongeren bij elkaar komen.
Het is echter belangrijk om niet te vergeten dat extreem-rechts niet alleen staat, op verschillende plaatsen in de samenleving vinden we racisme en discriminatie. Zelfs in de Tweede kamer zitten personen en partijen die onderscheid maken tussen mensen op grond van hun zogenaamde culturele afkomst of het land waarin ze toevallig geboren zijn. Mensen met hun roots in een Islamitisch land worden openlijk gediscrimineerd. Ook dit kunnen we niet stilzwijgend langs ons heen laten gaan.
Het is ontzettend belangrijk om te blijven benadrukken wat wij niet willen leven in een maatschappij die mensen onderverdeeld in rassen, zogenaamde "culturen", land van herkomst, gender of seksuele geaardheid. Dit zijn etiketten die gebruikt worden om mensen in groepjes op te delen en te discrimineren. Het is en blijft belangrijk om niet stilzwijgend toe te kijken, maar om overal te laten merken dat wij een solidaire samenleving willen waarin iedereen gelijk is.

De Anarchistische Groep Amsterdam/de Vrije Bond heeft contact met de anarcho sindicalistische vakbond ZSP in polen, waar de getrofen arbeider lid van is. Wij zijn op dit moment bezig een dossier aan te leggen en meer informatie te verzamelen, zodat we direct de juiste verantwoordelijke bij de strot kunnen vatten die poen verdienen aan deze walgelijke praktijken.

Op 12 december 2008 heeft onze kamaraad Michal een contract getekend met bij het uitzendbureau Groen Flex in Opole, Polen om te gaan werken bij Eurocontract Zeeland B.V met hun hoofdvestiging in Goes. Het contract was voor een periode van 78 weken om groente te sorteren in kassen.
Het Poolse en Nederlandse contract garandeerde ziektekosteverzekering met ingang van 15 december 2008.
15 December begon hij te werken in de haven van Vlissingen. Het bleek dat hij was aangenomen op scheepswerf in plaats van groenten sorteren!
Hij begon toch te werken, ondanks dat hij geen enkele veiligheidstraining kreeg, geen nederlands of engels sprak, en dus geen enkel waarschuwingsbord kon lezen.
Hij werd gedwongen te werken zonder beschermend masker, schepen schoonmaken in Middelburg. Na te zijn bloodgesteld aan verschillende stoffen in het schip raakte Michal buiten bewustzijn en werd naar het ziekenhuis in Vlissingen gebracht, afdeling cardeologie.
De bazen werden op de hoogte gesteld van de gebeurtenissen, maar niemand kwam hem opzoeken in het ziekenhuis. De enige reden dat hij kon communiceren met de doctoren was een in Nederland wonende Pool. Na 24 uur werd Michal ontslagen uit het ziekenhuis. Maar hij bleek geen werk meer te hebben, na slechts 6 dagen te hebben gewerkt van het contract van 78 weken!
Zijn werkgevers vertelde hem dat alles ok was met de ziekenhuisrekening doordat hij verzekerd was. Op 9 januari ging hij terug naar Polen.
Terug in Polen bleek dat hij niet verzekerd was door het bedijf. De rekening van € 2316,5 voor medische bijstand werd naar zijn huisadres gestuurd.
Europ Assistance Polska Sp.z.o.o, die de zaken waarneemd voor S.T.U Hestia S.A meldde Michal dat zij de kosten voor de behandling niet kunnen terugbetalen. Het bleek dat het bedrijf zijn ziektekosten niet had betaald tijdens zijn verblijf in Nederland. Michal belde Groen Flex voor opheldering over deze zaak. Zij vertelde hem hierop dat Groen Flex niets te maken heeft met Eurocontract (ookal vertegenwoordigen ze dat bedrijf in Polen) en dat hij maar een rechtzaak moet aanspannen als hij wil.
Groen Flex krijgt geld van de Poolse staat om werkloosheid te bevechten en adverteerd in staats arbeidsbureaus.

Afa blokkeert Voorpost in Delft
Vandaag voert de Anti-Fascistische Actie in Delft actie tegen een bijeenkomst georganiseerd door de extreem-rechtse organisatie Voorpost.
Voorpost wil in Delft een bijeenkomst houden waar gesproken zou worden over hun ideeen met betrekking tot drugs en hun aankomende acties zoals hun demonstratie in Maastricht 1 maart.
14:40 30 a 35 mensen blokkeren de ruimte waar de bijeenkomst plaatsvind.
14:55 er zijn net 5 agenten gearriveerd.
Voorpost is een nationalistische actiegroep die probeert zich veel netter voor te doen dan menig andere extreem-rechtse club. Voorpost is echter een extremistische en gewelddadige organisatie; Voorpost kwam afgelopen jaar vooral in het nieuws toen leden van de net opgerichte afdeling Flevoland werden gearresteerd na een aantal pogingen tot brandstichting in onder andere een islamitische winkel, een synagoge en twee kraakpanden. Eén van de kraakpanden brandde tot de grond toe af.
Een andere opmerkelijk actie komt van de hand van Paul Peters, de "actieleider" van Voorpost. Hij bekladde eind april 2001 joodse graven met swastika's en testen als "Juden raus".
Van oorsprong is Voorpost een Vlaamse organisatie die Nederlanders en Vlamingen wil verenigen in één staat. Ook ijvert men voor eerherstel van Vlaamse collaborateurs die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog samen met de nazi's aan het Oostfront vochten. Voorpost is extreem nationalistisch en ageert tegen alles wat in hun ogen niet Nederlands genoeg is. Kopstukken binnen Voorpost Nederland komen onder andere uit de verboden partij CP'86 en de neo-nazi club Stormfront Nederland. In Vlaanderen onderhoudt Voorpost nauwe banden met het Vlaams Belang.
