Acquittal for rebel clowns? / Vrijspraak voor rebel clowns?

Beautifoooool; what a day! Snow everywhere, trains with delay, the sun is shining in our hearts and yeahhh Tuesday, Nov. 30th was also the moment the Collegial Court (3 judges!) had their session, starting shortly after 10.00, in the Palace of Justice in Den Bosch...

Nederlandse tekst volgt / Dutch text will follow

Do you remember? May 23st 2009 neo-nazi's of the NVU (Dutch Peoples Union / Nederlandse Volks Unie) demonstrated in Den Bosch. Of course there were all kind of protests. Antifa initiatives, many people from the neighbourhood and also clowns from 'The National Duckies Front'

Februari 23rd 2010 the first clown had to visit the court. It was far too complicated for just 1 judge...

An extra round was needed at the Collegial Court (Meervoudige Kamer)

October 20th 2010 the organisation 'Don'tLetThemWalk' published a black book about everything what went wrong in Den Bosch when the NVU marched and people tried to protest. Loads of stories (in Dutch), including the experiences from 5 rebel clowns

November 30th 2010 finally the first rebel clown got the attention she needed from the Collegial Court. After a short welcome by one of the judges the prosecutor started: "Let's keep it short", she said. Followed by lines about the confusion she experienced reading the reports and the strange attempts to get clowns to court: one clown already got a letter they shouldn't prosecute him, one clown never got any letter, 3 other clowns each got a different proposal for a fine.

The first of these last 3 was today's case.

Yeahhh and as 'National Duckies Front' they did exactly the same. Even the prosecutor couldn't understand what happened by the police and the prosecution. She said: "It's a strange way of acting". She confirmed the clowns didn't act against article 184 (about not following police orders, etc). Her c(l)o(w)nclusion was loud an clear: "There are too many loose ends in this case!".
That's why she proposed acquittal.

Great! Finally a prosecutor understands the meaning of red noses!

Then the lawyer started his plea. He had a very good and long story. All charges asked for, no screamed for acquittal. Next to it he gave all 3 judges and the prosecutor the black book published by 'Don'tLetThemWalk'.

Hopefully it will make clear clowns and many other people should be free to express themselves on moments neo-nazi's are marching through the streets!

Judge's ruling expected Tuesday, Dec. 14th.

The black book is still available in bookshops like Rooie Rat and Fort van Sjakoo, etc. (special issue Alert! October 2010, 3,50 euro)
