In case you get arrested…

There are some important things to know in case you get arrested during this action.
– you can choose to not give your name to the police (you will be named 'NN').
– don't say anything about yourself or others when you are interrogated.
– you have the right to see your own lawyer, before the interrogation (please only ask for this in case of an
emergency) or when you are being put in custody (inverzekeringstelling).
– in general you should be released after 6 hours (or 12 when you are anonymous). But, the time between 12
p.m. and 9 a.m. doesn't count.., so in the end it can take up to 21 hours.
– if you are being put in custody you can be held for maximum 3 days and 15 hours before you have to be
brought in front of a judge that will decide if you can be held in custody for a longer period.
– in case you stay anonymous, you might be put in foreign detention. Also in this case: demand to see your
own lawyer!
Today, and if necessary the next days, there will be a legal support group (phone: 06-17098314) to support
people that get arrested. Call if you see people being arrested or when you are out again after an arrest.
There is a lawyer standby to support people that get arrested today: Milan van Hulst of Buitenhof
Advocaten in The Hague.
