Awakening 7 about Straight Edge and baning of squatting

nederlandbekentkleur.nl : Vind je ook dat in ons land iedereen zichzelf moet kunnen zijn? Dat onze samenleving een kleurrijke mix van diverse culturen is, en moet blijven? Ben je ook bezorgd over de toenemende onverdraagzaamheid? En verontwaardigd over de opmars van vreemdelingenhaat? Dan is het nu tijd om samen kleur te bekennen! Op 30 mei willen we laten zien dat opinieleiders die angst en haat aanwakkeren niet in onze naam spreken. De bekendste spreekbuis van het intolerante geluid, de PVV, wil de grenzen dichtgooien voor alle niet-westerse allochtonen, tientallen miljoenen Europese moslims uitzetten en een hoofddoekjesverbod invoeren. Ook bij andere opinieleiders is helaas steeds vaker een "wij" tegen "zij" geluid te horen. We willen juist samen leven en accepteren niet dat allochtonen of moslims tot tweederangsburgers worden gemaakt. Wij zwijgen niet nu we vreemdelingenhaat zien in de samenleving. Vrijheid van meningsuiting is geen excuus om discriminatie toe te staan. Nederland heeft een eeuwenoude traditie van tolerantie. De gelijkwaardigheid van iedere burger is vastgelegd in artikel 1 van de grondwet. Daarom roepen we iedereen op om stelling te nemen. Spreek je uit tegen racisme en kies voor een kleurrijk en solidair Nederland!



antifaamsterdam.wordpress.com : Nogmaals niet omdat we het statement van NBK niet waarderen maar omdat ze, in hun drang om het maar zo breed en toegangekelijk mogelijk te houden, zich te zeer beperken in het soort uitsluiting waar ze hun pijlen op richten. Naast wat vage algemeenheden over racisme gaat het uitsluitend over Wilders en zijn PVV. Dit terwijl, hoewel soms aangejaagd door Wilders, alle politieke partijen gezamelijk een draconisch vreemdelingenbeleid hebben gecreerd en in stand houden. Alle politieke partijen ondersteunen in woord of daad de structurele discriminatie van gastarbeiders en het keiharde, onmenselijke vreemdelingenbeleid. Politici komen weg met misdaden als de Schipholbrand en het stelselmatig stigmatiseren van bevolkingsgroepen. Wij maken ons geen enkele illusie dat bijvoorbeeld een Cohen het antwoord op Wilders zou zijn, tenslotte is Cohen de architect geweest van het huidige beleid van opsluiten en deportatie, met zijn razzia's en gesloten centra, een beleid dat hij nog steeds verdedigd. Slechts in het al decennia durende klimaat van vreemdelingenhaat en intolerantie heeft Wilders kunnen opkomen en gedijen. Het is ook het niet vreemd dat sommige jongeren denken ongestraft asielzoekers hun dorp uit te kunnen pesten, andersdenkenden intimideren en lastigvallen, homo's te mishandelen of gebedshuizen in de fik te steken. Ook zijn wij van mening dat de tijd van een feestje vieren en luisteren naar hotemetoten allang voorbij zou moeten zijn. Wat ons betreft is het tijd voor actief verzet. Niet alleen tegen Wilders maar tegen alle vormen van discriminatie en intolerantie; tegen racisme, seksisme, homofobie, anti-semitisme maar ook absoluut het structureel institutioneel-racisme en het deportatiebeleid. Wij pikken het niet dat het toenemend racisme, de islamo- en homofobie, het seksisme en de terugkeer van fascistische tendensen het klimaat op straat, in de media en de politiek vergiftigen. Daarom dus een radicale demonstratie op 30 mei, een demonstratie die ook langs de Dam zal trekken om zo hopelijk mensen te inspireren om hun afwijzing van intolerantie niet alleen consumptief of in het stemhokje tot uiting te brengen maar om daadwerkelijk in verzet te komen. Voor een samenleving waarin iedereen gelijkwaardig is. Tijd voor een feestelijke protest is voorbij, het is tijd voor actief verzet! We are helping coordinate a Queer Block on this day, to raise our voices against racism as LGBTQ people in The Netherlands. We are meeting outside Crea, (Turfdraagsterpad) at 13.45 on the 30th, and we will walk through the city, to join the demo at the Dam, with banners and placards, flyers, and of course, music ! So come and join us and bring your friends along ...


queer-nl.org calls for an inclusive and diverse society; denounce fear mongering and all forms of minority bashing, stereotyping and intolerance! And we certainly do not like to be used by right wing politicians to justify their anti-immigrant stand. We march in solidarity with immigrants and asylum seekers, and people from minorities facing discrimination and prejudice. We would also like to remind ourselves of the ethnic/racial/linguistic diversity within the LGBT community.

Straight edge has persisted as a drug-free, hardcore punk subculture for 25 years. Its political legacy remains ambiguous and it is often associated with self-righteous macho posturing and conservative Puritanism. While certain elements of straight edge culture feed into such perception, the cultureʼs political history is far more complex.

Since straight edgeʼs origins in Washington, D.C. in the early 1980s, it has been linked to radical thought and action by countless individuals, bands, and entire scenes. Sober Living for the Revolution traces this history.

It includes contributions by famed straight edge punk rockers like Ian MacKaye (of Minor Threat/Fugazi), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused/The (International) Noise Conspiracy), Mark Andersen (Dance of Days) and Andy Hurley (Fall Out Boy); legendary bands like ManLiftingBanner and Point of No Return; radical collectives like CrimethInc. and Alpine Anarchist Productions; and numerous other artists and activists dedicated as much to sober living as to the fight for a better world.

Awakening it's a program on radio patapoe.It's talkactive. It means we talk for more than three hours, mainly about politics,squatting,activism,
ecology,tolerance,human and animal rights,punk,spirituality,freedom,love,cultural life in Amsterdam.First we start with the agenda for the squatting scene in Amsterdam( not only),then we have some main subject,sometimes guests.The last ha we do as polish part in this language.The music what we are playing that mainly punk,but this is just as background(package) and in the breaks when we are preparing our self,equipment,material,etc.Patapoe is a pirate, underground,squatters radio.
