UNITED E-NEWS 18-02-2016: Strength In Diversity - Poster Competition

Dear colleagues,

For this year's European Action Week Against Racism, as well as our usual Europe-wide campaign, UNITED is also organising a special poster competition and calls on all its partner organisations and supporters to submit poster designs that represent the theme of "Strength in Diversity". The designs will be presented in an online gallery to show the diversity that is at the heart of the European antiracist movement, and the best designs will be used as official campaign materials for future Europe-wide campaigns of the UNITED network.

The designs can be anything: a photograph, a drawing, a collage, a selfie... Whatever represents the theme of "Strength in Diversity" to you. So don't be shy to share your designs – and let your imagination run free! Send your designs to 21march@unitedagainstracism.org with the subject "Action Week Poster" – and don't forget to also Tweet your design with the campaign hashtag: #StrengthInDiversity.

All suitable submissions will be published on an online gallery on the Action Week Against Racism website, and the best entries will be presented at an exhibition in Budapest and made into a special online publication that will be distributed to the UNITED network. Prizes on offer for the winners include:

• A limited edition UNITED T-shirt
• A limited edition No Hate Speech Movement laptop bag
• A waiver on participation fee at the UNITED autumn conference*
PLUS – a chance that your design could be selected as the official campaign poster for next year's European Action Week Against Racism campaign, visible to hundreds of thousands of participants at campaign activities all over Europe!

*To qualify for this prize, entrants must be aged 30 or under and resident in a member state of the Council of Europe, and must represent an organisation active in one of the working fields of the UNITED network

To make sure your design is included, please send it by 11 March! More details are available at the Week Against Racism website.

There is also still time to order free campaign materials, and submit details of your Week Against Racism activities to UNITED. Details of all activities we receive will be published on an online activity map, and on UNITED's social media. To order materials or submit your activity details, fill out the order form on the Week Against Racism website.

Our campaign coordinators are available by e-mail at 21march@unitedagainstracism.org to answer all of your questions about the campaign.

Don't forget that even small acts can change the world. Keep active and stay UNITED!

Jonathan, Matleena, Mira, Chris and the rest of the UNITED team
