Resisting The Mono-Culture

I write you from beneath the heat dome in New York City.

We have embarked on an amazing new campaign, a national map of Monsanto's Glyphosate sprayed on our public spaces by our government. Public space has been our main stage for 15 years, we have celebrated, invaded and defended it, re-purposed it, re-imagined it, we have fought for it. This map is a new and high-stakes iteration of that same work, defending public space.

The Church of Stop Shopping resists the mono-culture!  Glyphosates are the mono-culture at its most insidious -- invisible, poisonous, ubiquitous. https://igg.me/at/CB88Xlz70pQ

This map is important, to all kinds of people and other forms of life. We are intent on exposing Monsanto's chemical presence in our everyday life, at the bus stop, by the playground, on the way to school, along the medians. This map makes the invisible VISIBLE, and for most humans, seeing is believing. So see this! https://igg.me/at/CB88Xlz70pQ

Our goal is to map 100,000 poisoned parks, playgrounds and public places. We have 6 cities on the map and more than 100 freedom of information requests filed in cities and school districts across the country as well as the National Park Service. We have already received more than 5,000 pages of spraying data from Houston, St. Paul, Las Vegas, Orlando, to name a few.

We need your help to make the national map. Will you make a donation? https://igg.me/at/CB88Xlz70pQ

It costs ONE dollar to reveal ONE spraying event.  One dollar pays for the public records, scanning, entering, uploading and placing one skull and crossbones on our map. Dollars for Data!  We also have some thank you gifts for you. https://igg.me/at/CB88Xlz70pQ

This map has already been used in congressional hearings and grassroots campaigns to BAN GLYPHOSATES. This map is the first step in a long game, a tool for activists, scientists, and policy makers that will help us help them help you to BAN GLYPHOSATES.

Our fight against Glyphosate is a campaign for the health of humans, and also of animals, insects, soil, water and the multitude of life systems on this beautiful Earth.

With gratitude,

Savitri D

Why Glyphosate?

Over 13.42 billion pounds of glyphosate have been sprayed on our planet in the past decade. Glyphosate use has risen exponentially since the introduction of genetically modified crops.  Scientific evidence proves that Glyphosate is carcinogenic and toxic. Glyphosate is persistent in our blood, bodies, soil and water. It is in our breast milk and even most organic foods. Glyphosate has been linked to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, birth defects, celiac disease, allergies, asthma and ALS.
