We chose this gesture because parents are writing their kids' names on their bodies, so that the children can be identified if they are killed. It's so heartbreaking, and such a powerful symbol of the horror of this war… that's why we're asking you to write the name of one of these children on your body too, as a gesture of solidarity. Here are some options: Yet-unnamed baby, 0 years-old Teeba Khalid Abueliwa, 6 years old Wael Salha, 5 years old Ward Wa'el Arandas, 6 years old Noha Khaled, 9 years old ----- Take a selfie with your arms in front of your chest like this - you don't need to show your face if you are not comfortable with it: Post your selfie on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (you can choose any social media channel that you like). You are welcome to customise your participation, including adding the names of children in Gaza that you know personally, but we kindly ask that you use the hashtags #LetThemGrowUp, #CeasefireNow and #PermanentCeasefire. In addition, please share the website LetThemGrowUp.com that explains what this action is all about and how more people can join. Invite your friends and family to do the same. Dear friends, Over 11,000 people are dead in Palestine and Israel. A child in Gaza is being killed every 15 minutes. This is absolute madness and it is getting worse. As Israel's closest ally, the American president holds the key to a ceasefire that would prevent thousands more from dying -- sign this urgent call for peace and we'll deliver it to President Biden and in media across the world. As people from across the world, we call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the blockade in Gaza. Stop raining death on innocent people. Ceasefire NOW!
